Inside CalendarTask
1 / 2CalendarTask publisher preview: transparent Windows calendar and mobile companion; features vary by plan.
Keep dates and reminders on the desktop
CalendarTask places a calendar over your Windows wallpaper so appointments and small tasks stay visible without opening a separate planner window. Double-click a date to write a note, add a reminder or create a recurring item. The publisher presents it as a DesktopCal alternative; that does not mean it is the same product or that every older feature is identical.
A calendar that fits around your desktop
Adjust the layout, fonts, colours and visible days to suit the space you have. A floating-month view can keep adjacent weeks together instead of treating each month as a separate page. Notes, countdown cards and completion marks provide a lightweight way to follow personal plans.
The Windows download page documents Windows 10 and Windows 11. Our gallery uses publisher-supplied previews: one shows the desktop calendar alongside its mobile companion, and another illustrates adding a reminder. These are not screenshots from an installation we performed.
What is free, and what needs VIP?
The published Free plan covers personal local use, calendar notes, reminders, countdowns and manually initiated data synchronisation. It is a usable free tier, not a claim that every advertised feature is unlimited.
Automatic real-time synchronisation, automatic history backups, sub-accounts and other extended functions belong to VIP. Team sharing is a separate paid offering. The publisher also lists a two-client login limit and six months of cloud record storage for free accounts. Those cloud limits should not be mistaken for a promise about permanent online backup; keep a separate copy of important plans.
Accounts, privacy and installation choices
Synchronising devices requires the same account on each one and sends the relevant data through the publisher's service. Check the privacy policy before putting confidential work or personal information into synchronised records. We have not audited the service's data handling.
The EULA describes a non-commercial personal-use licence, reserves redistribution rights and says installation may offer optional additional software. Review the setup choices even though the feature page describes the calendar itself as ad-free. Download links on this listing lead to the official publisher, in line with the submission's official-source preference; we do not mirror this package.
- Best for
- Keeping personal notes, recurring tasks and reminders visible on the Windows desktop.
- Good to know
- Free personal use; manual sync. Automatic sync/history and team tools cost extra. Free accounts: two clients, six-month cloud history. Official download only; inspect optional setup offers.
Is automatic device sync included in Free?
The publisher distinguishes manual synchronisation in the Free plan from automatic real-time synchronisation in VIP. Free account and cloud-history limits also apply. Compare the current plans before relying on the app as a shared team calendar.
Should I import an existing calendar immediately?
Keep a separate export first. Check the publisher's migration instructions for your exact source application and verify dates, recurring items and reminders afterwards. We have not performed a DesktopCal migration or tested notification delivery.
