Run a repair counter from a local shop server

RepairAmigo is self-hosted software for phone, computer and electronics repair shops. It brings customer intake, repair tickets, parts, pricing and cash records into a browser-based workspace on the shop's own network. The publisher offers the software free of charge, under a separate end-user licence.

From intake to collection

The receiving workflow records a customer, device and reported problem. Shop-maintained price lists supply labour, parts and tax settings rather than assuming every repair has the same price. Technicians can record work, update ticket status and track parts used. The wider toolset includes inventory, cash sales, warranty returns, technician commissions and reports.

Owner, Manager and Technician roles separate administrative tasks from daily counter work. Optional text messages use the shop's own Twilio account, so messaging charges and provider terms are separate from the free application.

A virtual appliance, not a Windows installer

RepairAmigo is distributed as an OVA virtual machine of approximately 1.3 GB. It requires VirtualBox 7 or later on a compatible 64-bit Windows, Linux or Intel Mac host. The publisher specifies 8 GB of RAM and 8 virtual CPUs for the VM and recommends a host with at least 16 GB of RAM. Apple Silicon Macs are not supported by this appliance.

Once the VM is running, staff open its local address in a browser from a computer, tablet or phone on the same network. This is a locally hosted application, not a mobile-only app or a cloud service that we operate. The official setup FAQ explains importing the appliance and creating the first Owner account.

Keep control of shop data

Create a unique Owner password, restrict access to the shop network and arrange backups before entering real customer records. The documented export options include SQL, CSV and an encrypted migration package. An import can replace the current shop data, so test the migration process with non-production data first and keep a separate backup.

Our button opens the publisher's download page, where its licence and download checks apply. We do not mirror the OVA, bypass its verification step or provide a VirusTotal result for that image. The approximately 1.3 GB appliance exceeds our current file-upload limit, and we have not downloaded or executed it. Gallery images are publisher demo screens and are not an independent installation test.

Best for
Repair shops that want local ticket, parts and cash management and can maintain a dedicated virtual machine.
Good to know
OVA appliance (~1.3 GB), not an EXE. VirtualBox 7+, 64-bit Windows/Linux or Intel Mac; Apple Silicon unsupported. VM: 8 GB RAM/8 CPUs; host: 16 GB RAM recommended. Official download only; appliance not scanned or tested by us.

Is RepairAmigo a website or a desktop program?

Both roles are involved: a desktop computer hosts the virtual machine, while staff use a browser to access the application on the local network. A phone can be a client, but it cannot replace the supported host machine.

What should a shop prepare first?

Check the host's memory, CPU allocation and VirtualBox compatibility. Then plan the local-network address, staff roles and backup storage. Use sample tickets to review labour rates, parts pricing, tax settings and printouts before adding live customer information. The screenshot's example values are not recommended settings for every shop or jurisdiction.

Does free software mean no operating costs?

No. You still provide the computer, electricity, network and ongoing maintenance. Optional text messages need a separate provider account and can incur charges. Read the publisher's current EULA and setup documentation on the official download page.

Has the OVA been tested by Freeware Catalog?

No. This listing describes publisher-submitted information and public documentation. We have not scanned, imported or run the virtual appliance and do not display a clean-file verdict for it.
